These are the Great Questions that have intrigued and mystified the human race for millennia. Unbeknownst to most people, pioneering researchers and scientists have developed detailed models of the afterlife and the nature of reality that provide surprisingly specific answers to these questions. Join author John Mennella in his quest to find the answers to the great questions of existence, and learn how this knowledge affords us the opportunity to "hack reality" in ways that can improve and enrich our life experience.
The main thesis of this book is that our "physical" reality is actually a holographic virtual reality that is designed and created to serve as a school for souls, a virtual environment in which we can experience circumstances and face challenges that afford us opportunities to learn and grow spiritually via a process grounded in the concepts of karma and reincarnation. The claims made in this book go beyond conjecture: they are elegant, logical, intellectually and spiritually satisfying, and are supported by compelling evidence - both scientific and spiritual - all of which is documented and referenced by almost 400 footnoted citations.
Despite all of the supposed differences dividing us, there are two indisputable common denominators which we all share: We all exist together in this reality, and we will all one day leave it. It thus behooves all of us to learn as much as we can about the reality in which we live, the reality to which we will go, and how the two realities are interrelated. Detailed book summary
The Afterlife and the True Nature of Reality is a documented account of my quest to learn the answers to the Great Questions of Existence. Unbeknownst to many people, pioneering researchers and scientists have developed detailed models of the afterlife and the nature of reality, models that paint a much different picture from what we've long been led to believe. After decades of research and personal exploration (via hypnotic regression) I’ve uncovered some surprisingly specific answers to these mysteries. Share in the discoveries I've made and learn how this knowledge can enable us to "hack reality" in ways that can improve and enrich our life experience. The Spirit Realm is our true, eternal home, but it also serves, in conjunction with our physical reality, as the school in which we strive for spiritual perfection. The two realms - the Afterlife dimension and our holographic "physical" dimension - are intertwined in the coordinated, interdependent purpose of fostering the spiritual evolution of human souls. The Spirit Realm serves as the theoretical "classroom" portion of our spiritual education, while our earthly reality serves as the "laboratory" or "field-work" counterpart of our educational process where we get to employ and experience, by way of practical application, the spiritual concepts and lessons we study in the Spirit Realm.
What is of particular and immediate importance is the discovery that, by simply reading about and contemplating accounts of the Afterlife - right now, in our earthly lives - we can experience positive life-enhancing and life-transforming effects that can raise our spiritual awareness and improve the quality of our lives, both individually and collectively. Merely becoming familiar with the Afterlife literature provides a practical methodology for personal empowerment and betterment. We owe it to ourselves and our civilization to explore this rich and rewarding means to salvation.

Mennella's scientific scrutiny and undergoing of Michael Newton's Life Between Life Hypnotherapy are each worth the price of the book- but you get a LOT more. “A Profound Work! This book is profound, both in its ideas and its research into the meaning of our human existence. An amazing variety of perspectives are used in the author's attempt to answer the fundamental questions of our existence. These include "NDEs" (near-death experiences), "OBEs" (out-of-body experiences), hypnotic regression, and memories of past lives. The author also refers to authorities in science, mathematics, as well as many famous authors.
One of the things that makes this book so special is that the author does not try to establish himself as some kind of daunting authority. He freely admits that he doesn't know all of the answers. Although he has a Bachelors degree in Mathematics and a Masters degree in Computers, Mr. Mennella presents himself as just a fellow human being who is searching for answers.
Despite this humility, Mr. Mennella is successful at providing his reader with a very wide spectrum of ideas that help to explain both our lives and the "afterlife". This is not a book containing only theories and abstractions. It is abundant with clinical studies in verifiable experiences, including those of the author, which provide authenticity to the writer's explanations.
As an aside, I was quite impressed with Mr. Mennella's descriptions of his own sessions while under hypnosis. They are interesting, engrossing, and revealing. He also includes some sections on mathematics. Fear not! He makes the mathematics understandable and simple enough, even for someone, such as myself, who is not nearly as advanced as he is in this subject. I have never read another author who could parallel Mr. Mennella's ability to present such a diversity of practical experiences and multiple viewpoints to support his writing.
This brings to mind the enormous bibliography he supplies. I was dumbfounded! I love bibliographies because they provide the opportunity to read other author's books on the same subjects. There are twenty fives pages of it, including well over three hundred entries! Here's another proof of this man's humility in not claiming to be some kind of final authority on these subjects.

About the Author & Contact
John Mennella was born in 1952 in Brooklyn, NY. He holds a B.S. degree with a major in mathematics and an M.S. degree in Computers in Education. John served for 4 years on active duty in the United States Army as both an enlisted man and a commissioned officer. John also worked as a mathematics and computer science teacher at an inner city high school for 11 years, where he proudly created the school’s first computer science department in the early 1980s, at the beginning of the so-called computer revolution. John and his wife have been married for over 40 years and have one son who is a professor of molecular biology.
John's interest in mathematics, science, and the paranormal inspired him to research topics involving the afterlife, various religious and existential philosophies, cutting edge physics, and the nature of reality. A diagnosis of prostate cancer in 2003 intensified his interest in these topics and spurred him to undergo hypnotic regression as a supplemental healing modality and also to explore past lives and the afterlife. His research and personal exploration resulted in the discovery of contemporary models of the afterlife and the nature of reality which offer surprisingly detailed and specific answers to what he calls the Great Questions of Existence, to wit: (1) Where do we go after we die? (2) Where do we come from before we are born? and (3) Why are we here? Most significantly, he discovered that knowledge about the afterlife can result in a profound personal transformation that has the potential to greatly enrich and enhance one's life experience. Wanting very much to share this information with others, he decided to write a book ("The Afterlife and the True Nature of Reality") in which he could present and discuss these amazing discoveries as well as provide a practical methodology for applying them.
